Before I picked Up The Brutale 910R, I did a lot of reading about it. I went to the MV Agusta Website, Read Magazines, and did searches using all the web search engines I could find.
I was always finding the same figures, 144 Horsepower and 70 ftlbs of Torque. My bike being brand spanking new I decided to have it broken in on a Dyno Jet Dyno, where I hear it is claimed to be better for the bike, also resulting in a few extra horsepower due to better ring sealing.
I dropped my bike off and waited for the call.......A few days later I was picking it up, excited to see what kind of numbers I would get. I had already read Motorcyclist Magazine tests and knew they got a horsepower reading of 106@12000 rpm and torque output of 51.1@ 10500 rpm from a '03 Brutale S tested on the same Dyno my bike was tested on.
Finally the shop printed out my figures:
Actual Rear Wheel Horsepower As Measured 117
Actual Rear Wheel Torque As Measured 35
Temperature During Test 80 Degrees
The numbers aren't bad for a bike with stock exhaust, stock EPROM and less than 100 miles on the engine.
Sport Rider Magazine in their September 07 Issue,Provided these figures for the Brutale 910R
Horsepower 119.2 @ 10.750 rpm
Quarter Mile 10.573 sec @ 129.49 mph
Just A Tad Slower Than A Honda CBR600RR
Are You Ready For The Next Earthquake?
I Am Wondering If The Dyno Actually Works With MV Agusta's ?
